RAP

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation.

At Kunyung Preschool we recognise its role in fostering an organisational, educational and community environment that values and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.

As a community run service, we commit to progressing the journey towards reconciliation with our children, educators and families and providing opportunities to learn and grow together.

We strive to meaningfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the Preschool curriculum and ensure our service is culturally responsive, respectful and inclusive for First Nation children, families and staff.

We commit to building and strengthening our connections with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, groups and organisations to build positive relationships built on mutual respect. We will strive to further our knowledges, and incorporate of these knowledges into our teaching, learning, and engagement philosophies.

Our kindergarten has produced our ‘Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and we have a dedicated working group which includes staff, families and committee members. Our current members are:

Bree Murray (Committee / Parent)
Symone Brown (Committee / Parent)
Linda Spence (Teacher)
Carole Warren (Teacher)
Kate Luxmoore (Committee / Parent)
Chermeine Strachan (Teacher)
